World Selenium Capital of China Tea Valley -10,000 Mu Organic Tea Base in Mu Mountain

Muershan Base is the self-built base of Hubei Hefeng Xinnong Tea Industry Co., Ltd., and it is now also a demonstration base for ethnic unity to enter enterprises. The base is 8 kilometers away from Zoumaji Town, covering an area of 15.5 square kilometers, with an average altitude of 900 meters. The tea garden covers an area of 10700 mu.

The origin of the place name of Muer Mountain has a long story. According to legend, more than 600 years ago, the zouma area was under the jurisdiction of Maliao Tusi. Later, Maliao Tusi Wang Tang Yong attached to the imperial court, the imperial court in Zouma Town Suoping set up a thousand households and named Tang Yong as the director of a thousand households, so in Suoping (that is, under the fungus mountain) to establish a garrison. At that time, the garrison often went hunting in the forest under the jurisdiction of Hangaogai (the connection between Suoping and Muer Mountain). They found that the ancient trees in the forest were towering and the dead branches were covered with black fungus. Therefore, the garrison and the surrounding people often came here to collect black fungus. Over time, everyone called this mountain forest "Muer Mountain".

With the loss of time, the fungus mountain gradually became a barren mountain with thorns and no people. In 1992, Zhou Jiran, chairman of our Xinnong Company, led more than 300 employees to fight against heaven and earth, open up wasteland and grow tea, and built the current 10,000 mu tea base. The completion of the tea garden requires personnel management, so in 1996, the company innovated and implemented the industrialized poverty alleviation road of "immigrant households in the company's base", relocating 338 people from 68 poor households whose soil and water could not support one side of the mountain to Muer Mountain, building houses for them, providing electricity and water access, and training them to manage the tea garden. After more than 20 years of development, all the poor immigrant households of that year have been lifted out of poverty. Each family has built small houses and bought tricycles. About half of the families have bought cars. More than a dozen households are large depositors who walk horses. They started folk tourism and began to enter a well-off society. As a result, Muer Mountain has become a demonstration model for the whole province and even the whole country to help the poor. Chairman Zhou Jiran was named "China's Good Man" in 2016 for leading farmers to open up wasteland and grow tea and create a new model for poverty alleviation in Hubei industry ".

Muer Mountain has been well-known, with the "world tea valley" reputation, is the country's largest ecological tea garden. In 2016, it was selected as "China's 30 Most Beautiful Tea Gardens" and was rated as a national tourism demonstration site by the National Tourism Administration. Now Muershan actively responds to the call of the county party committee and county government to create an organic tea garden. More than 3000 mu of organic tea garden has passed the conversion certification. In the near future, Mu'er Mountain will be fully built as an organic tea garden base.
